We have four mixed Year 3/4 classes. Our teachers are Mrs Short, Miss Smith, Mrs Connolly and Mrs Dodds.

Welcome everyone! We hope you enjoy seeing our termly updates surrounding our learning in Rowan, Cedar, Willow and Maple class. Topics this year include: Changes in Britain from the Stone Age through to the Iron Age, States of Matter, What happens when the land meets the sea? and Online Safety.

Literacy
In literacy this half term we have reading Stig of the Dump, in the story Barney meets a boy called Stig, who is from the Stone Age. In the story Stig teaches Barney how to do Cave paintings. We had a go at creating our own, using charcoal pencils and powdered paint.
Using ideas from the book we wrote diary entries as Barney:
Maths
This term our maths topic has been Place Value. During this topic we have used dice to order and compare numbers. We learnt how to partition 3 and 4 digit numbers in different ways. Finally, we learnt how to round to the nearest 10, 100 and 1,000. 5 climb the vine, 4 to the floor.
History
Our History topic this term has been Stone Age to Iron Age, We have been archaeologists and investigated how life changed from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.
PE
In PE we have been doing gymnastics, we even went on a gymnastic trip, used trampolines, balance beams and gymnastics bars!
